I have appeared in this age

To indicate the way unto men.

The way is:

Simplify your life,

Purify your heart.

Slay egoism and pride.

Cultivate cosmic love.

Practise self-discipline.

Serve all, love all.

Hear, reflect, meditate.

Enquire and know thy Self.

Live in the Eternal.

I AM NEITHER HINDU NOR CHRISTIAN - Poem

I am neither Hindu nor Christian,
Neither Jew nor Hebrew,
Neither Mussalman nor Parsee,
Niether Aiyer nor Ayengar.
 
I am not of the East,
Iam not of the West.
I am all-pervading Immortal Soul,
I am Satchidananda Brahman,
Existence, Consciousness, Bliss Absolute.

Sivananda's Poem

O free, O gloriously free,

Am I in freedom from birth and death,

From pain, sorrow, Karma and Nescience;

All that dragged me back is rent asunder.

How free am I,

How thoroughly free from cares and anxieties!

It is the grace of the Lord.

I am purged now of all impurities,

I dwell in the abode of silence,

Nothing can disturb or distract me.

I have won, I have won!

The wave of bliss sweeps over me now,

The breath of freedom sweeps over me now.

Nityamukta Svarupoham,

I am eternally free Rasa or essence.

No bending, no kneeling,

No "Good morning, Sir",

No "Ji Huzur, sir",

No "Obedient servant",

No "I beg to remain";

But I am Emperor of the three worlds,

Atma Samrat, Svarat, Self-king.

Suddhoham, Buddhoham, Niranjanoham,

Samsara Maya Parivarijitoham.

Pure, fully illumined, spotless,

Free from the taints of Samsara am I.

All my sorrow is over,

My heart is now brimming up with joy;

Peace has now entered my soul.

All doubts, fears and delusion have vanished.

I was suddenly lifted out of myself.

There was dawn of a new life.

I experienced the inner world of Reality.

The Unseen filled my soul and heart.

I entered the vast, luminous Silence.

I was bathed in a flood of effulgence ineffable.

I came on the hidden spring of all life.

I am the Light that illumines the entire universe.

 Nirvana Shatkam By Adi Sankaracharya

Mano budhyahankara chithaa ninaham,
Na cha srothra jihwe na cha graana nethrer,
Na cha vyoma bhoomir na thejo na vayu,
Chidananada Roopa Shivoham, Shivoham.

I am not mind, nor intellect, nor ego,
nor the chitta.
I am not the five senses.
I am beyond that.
I am not the ether, nor the earth,
nor the fire, nor the wind (the five elements).
I am indeed, Shiva -Eternal Existence, Consciousness and bliss.

Na cha praana sangno na vai pancha vaayuh,
Na vaa saptha dhathur na va pancha kosa,
Na vak pani padam na chopastha payu,
Chidananada Roopa Shivoham, Shivoham.

Neither can I be termed as energy (prana),
nor five types of breath (vayus),
nor the seven material essences (dhathus),
nor the five coverings (pancha-kosha) .
Neither am I the five instruments of elimination,
procreation, motion, grasping, or speaking.
I am indeed, Shiva -Eternal Existence, Consciousness and bliss.

Na me dwesha raghou na me lobha mohou,
Madho naiva me naiva matsarya bhava,
Na dharmo na cha artha na kamo na moksha,
Chidananada Roopa Shivoham, Shivoham.

I have no hatred or dislike,
nor affiliation or liking,
nor greed, nor delusion,
nor pride or haughtiness,
nor feelings of envy or jealousy.
I have no duty (dharma),
nor any money, nor any desire (kama),
nor even liberation (moksha).
I am indeed, Shiva -Eternal Existence, Consciousness and bliss.

Na punyam na paapam na soukhyam na dukham,
Na manthro na theertham na veda na yagna,
Aham bhojanam naiva bhojyam na bhoktha,
Chidananada Roopa Shivoham, Shivoham.

I have neither merit (virtue), nor demerit (vice).
I do not commit sins or good deeds,
nor have happiness or sorrow, pain or pleasure.
I do not need mantras, holy places,
scriptures (Vedas), rituals or sacrifices (yagnas).
I am none of the triad of the observer

 or one who experiences,
the process of observing or experiencing,
or any object being observed or experienced.
I am indeed, Shiva -Eternal Existence, Consciousness and bliss.

Na mruthyur na sankha na me jathi bhedha,
Pitha naiva me naiva matha na janma,
Na bhandhur na mithram gurur naiva sishyah,
Chidananada Roopa Shivoham, Shivoham.

I do not have fear of death, as I do not have death.
I have no separation from my true self,
no doubt about my existence,
nor have I discrimination on the basis of birth.
I have no father or mother, nor did I have a birth.
I am not the relative, nor the friend,
nor the guru, nor the disciple.
I am indeed, Shiva -Eternal Existence, Consciousness and bliss.

Aham nirvi kalpo nirakara roopo,
Vibhuthwascha sarvathra sarvendriyanaam,
Na chaa sangatham naiva mukthir na meyah
Chidananada Roopa Shivoham, Shivoham.

 I am all pervasive.
I am without any attributes,
and without any form.
I have neither attachment to the world,
nor to liberation (mukti).
I have no wishes for anything, because I am everything,
everywhere, every time, always in equilibrium.
I am indeed, Shiva -Eternal Existence, Consciousness and bliss.
