Silent japa should be engaged in at all times. One must not waste breath uselessly; whenever one has nothing special to do, one should silently practice japa in rhythm with one's breathing. In fact, this exercise should go on continually until doing japa has become as natural as breathing.

The water to clean your heart is the Name of God

Of greatest importance is that the Repetition of God's Name (Japa) increase daily. In this way, your heart and mind will be purified and only then will you find God in yourself.

The mind can be purified only by Japa. This is the only medicine for the disease of the mind.

While your mind and heart are impure, how can God live in your heart? The water to clean your heart is the Name of God. So teach everyone to repeat the Name of God--everywhere

The mantra "Om mama shivay"

This Om Nama Shivay is like nectar; feed everyone with this nectar. Shri Mahaprabhuji wishes that all words would disappear from this world, except for three - Om Nama Shivay. This is the original mantra. When Primordial Energy first appeared, the first mantra that She uttered from Her holy mouth was Om Nama Shivay.

Meditation & Japa nama

In this dark age (Kali Yuga) the mind of man is weak and restless from the first day of birth. Because of this, no one is able to do the real practice of meditation anymore, but everyone can pray and repeat and chant the name of the Lord, using whichever divine name his religion teaches.

"The Path of God-Realization is a most difficult one," said Babaji. "Few are those who will walk it. It is as difficult as walking on the edge of a razor. The Grace of the Guru is everything. No knowledge is possible without the Guru, and practicing Truth, Simplicity and Love."

He asserted that by concentrating on these Three principles, one could gain control over mind, body and emotions and attain Spiritual insight. Yet, he cautioned that discovering Truth, Simplicity and Love requires discipline.

"Nothing can be achieved without discipline," said Babaji. "You should have the strong discipline of a soldier. Be a soldier of God, and act with courage and discipline."
