The core of spiritual practice is to be in Self-awareness continuously. In a state of identification, you live unconsciously, like a robot reacting mechanically to external stimuli and events, repeating mental and emotional states mechanically through memory and imagination.

First of all, you need to know, learn, understand, and realize what self-awareness is.
Secondly, due to the habit of living in a state of identification, with the mind directed outward, and the lack of purity and harmony of the mind, it is difficult to remember to be in self-awareness and to remain in self-awareness for a significant amount of time.
However, since no serious work and progress in self-knowledge can be achieved without self-awareness, you must find ways to develop and deepen your self-awareness.
For the development of self-awareness, not only are the practices you can do two or three times a day in your space necessary, but also its practice throughout the entire day.
